Join South Wales University Freemasonry

For students, staff, and alumni aged 18+ in South Wales

We’re a friendly, long-established community that’s been thriving for over 300 years. Open to people from all walks of life — whatever your background, faith, or culture — we come together in local Lodges to enjoy our traditions and encourage each other to grow as respectful, thoughtful citizens.
With a history spanning over 300 years, Freemasonry is one of the world’s most enduring secular, social and charitable organisations. Its roots lie in the traditions of the medieval stonemasons who built the castles and cathedrals that still shape our landscape.

At its heart are four timeless values — Integrity, Friendship, Respect and Service — which offer guidance for Freemasons in all aspects of life. In an uncertain world, these principles remain as important as ever.

Membership is open to men aged 18 and over from all backgrounds. Our aim is to help you grow as an individual, make lifelong connections, and give back to the community.

Here in South Wales, students can discover a welcoming, supportive environment where they can develop new skills, form lasting friendships, and contribute to society. Freemasonry also plays a vital role in charitable work — donating nearly £1 million every week across the UK to support a diverse range of worthy causes.
